Lahra Carey - Foundation Board Chair
Lahra is as an experienced communications strategist and entrepreneur. She has provided Australia’s blue-chip companies, best known brands, not-for-profit organisations and government departments with strategic corporate communications. She uses her experience and knowledge to leverage leadership positioning on behalf of the organisations she works with. She is the founder and co-principal of PR consultancy Narrative Comms, as well as NewsFlash Media, which develops and delivers purpose-built media and presentation training programs for senior executives and other key staff. Lahra is also a non-executive Director of the Carlton Football Club, The Australian Dementia Network, Quipex Pty Ltd and a former Director of Foodbank Victoria. She is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Zac Fried - Foundation Board Member
Zac has almost 30 years of retail and property industry experience as well as a track record of successful site identification, property value creation, and the fostering of many longstanding and close lessee relationships. Zac is the executive deputy chair of Spotlight Group Holdings and has played a central role in the development of many of Australia and New Zealand’s retail, office, and homemaker centres. His experience at SGH includes the oversight of the group’s property development and leasing portfolio. He is also a past director of the Carlton Football Club.

He also served as CEO of ASX-listed Openpay Group, where he led the company through an IPO, multiple funding rounds, international expansion, and significant growth, all while navigating industry volatility. Dion is currently the Managing Director of Opypro Holding Pty Ltd, a leading Software-as-a-Service company. His commitment to innovation and leadership has cemented his reputation as a trusted advisor.A passionate advocate for not-for-profit causes, Dion has supported organisations focused on health, the arts, entertainment, and sport. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Australian Centre for the Moving Image and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, and has led key fundraising initiatives for the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute.Dion holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) and has received multiple accolades, including Valedictorian at Deakin University, the Young Entrepreneur Award, and recognition in BRW’s Fast 100.
