In 2025, a major milestone was achieved with the completion and opening of the new Imaging Centre at IKON Park, delivered in partnership with Imaging Associates Carlton, the Club’s preferred radiology specialists. 

The vision for this project was first identified during the redevelopment of IKON Park in 2021, when an opportunity was recognised to activate a prime space at the facility’s main entrance. The concept was to establish a business that not only aligned closely with the Club’s core function but also provided a tangible service for both football and the broader community. The outcome was the Imaging Centre a state-of-the-art facility offering MRI, CT, X-ray and ultrasound services. 

Construction commenced in mid-2024 and was completed in May 2025, with the Centre officially opening to patients in June. From day one, the facility has delivered significant impact for our football program and it has provided unprecedented access to world-class diagnostic services on-site. Players now benefit from immediate scans, rapid results, and the ability for Club doctors and performance staff to liaise directly with radiologists in real time. This proximity has enhanced decision-making, reduced recovery timelines, and minimised the disruption of travel for players requiring imaging. 

The Centre has also demonstrated early commercial success. Patient numbers continue to exceed forecast, with strong growth since opening and high expectations for further expansion into 2026. Importantly, the business model ensures dual benefit: delivering practical performance outcomes for our players while also providing a long-term financial return for the Club.

Beyond football, the Imaging Centre is servicing the wider community, offering convenient access to premium healthcare in Carlton. This initiative underscores the Foundation’s commitment to building facilities that extend impact beyond the boundary line contributing to community wellbeing while strengthening the Club’s sustainability.
